Home » Sharing Your Episode

At the Start Local Podcast, we encourage our guests to share their respective episodes as far and widely as they like. While there is no obligation to share your episode, our guests have repeatedly asked how they can best do so. What follows is a series of ideas and ways to share the episode. There is no need to share an episode in all the ways listed below, but we wanted to share a range of ideas. Go with what works best for you and your business or organization!

Share Regularly and Often

  • We invite you to share your episode a number of times in the weeks following the publication of your episode. Posting about the episode a few times on each social media outlet will help ensure that your audience sees what you are sharing.
  • To keep the shares fresh and relevant, you can share different highlights from your episode. For example, you can post about how you shared an important upcoming legislation or industry trend. Or you can highlight that you are hiring for some exciting roles at your company or organization.
  • If you have mentioned partners with whom you collaborate or organizations that you recommend, email your contacts at those partners and organizations to let them know you gave them a shout-out.
  • Remind your audience that the Start Local Podcast can be found anywhere good podcasts are available. You can also tell your smart speaker to “Play the Start Local Podcast”.

Sharing on Social Media

  • Upload your episode artwork, a brief description of the episode of conversation, and a link to your episode page on the Start Local Podcast website.

Posting on Your Website

  • We share the embed code from each of our episodes, so your episode can be published right within your website. You can include the episode artwork in the blog post or webpage.

Share in Your Newsletter

  • Include the episode artwork, a brief description of the episode of conversation, and a link to your episode page on the Start Local Podcast website.
  • Remind your audience that the Start Local Podcast can be found anywhere good podcasts are available. You can also tell your smart speaker to “Play the Start Local Podcast”.

Responding to Social Media Shares

  • When we mention your episode on social media (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter), it will help more people see the post if you respond to posts about your episode. Liking, commenting, and sharing the social media posts will help others to see the post.

Repurpose the Episode Content

  • Within a few days of publishing our episodes, we add the transcript of the show to the web page for that episode. We invite you to grab a copy of the transcript. You can share relevant excerpts of the conversation transcript across your own website, social media, and newsletter. You can post it as a quote from you.
  • You can dress us pull-quotes from the transcript using Canva or other design tools – for sharing on your website, social media, and newsletter.

Share in Ways that Work for You

  • When sharing the episode, you do not need to use the episode artwork. You are most definitely welcome to do so, but there is no obligation to do so. You may prefer to use a photo of work performing your own job as a way to connect with what you said in your episode.
