The Start Local podcast was launched and is hosted by Joe Casabona and Liam Dempsey. Joe and Liam are friends and colleagues from the WordPress community. Independently of each other, they both related to Chester County, PA, where they are increasingly active in their local business communities.
Joe Casabona
Joe Casabona is a college professor, author, course developer, and podcaster. He also has his Master’s Degree in Software Engineering.
Joe started freelancing in 2002, and has been a teacher at the college level for over 10 years. His passion in both areas drove him to create courses for The University of Scranton, LinkedIn Learning, and his own community of business owners.
Today, he helps people tell their stories through podcasts and video.
Liam Dempsey
Liam Dempsey is a marketing and design consultant working with businesses and non-profits. With a client base in the US, UK, and beyond, Liam works with clients which have a history of success and growth – but which lack a structure for doing so. Liam brings that structure and methodology to enable clients to capture a bigger and more sustainable return on their marketing efforts.
Liam relocated to Chester County, PA, in 2009, when he moved back to the United States. He had previously lived in the UK for seven years.
An active community builder, Liam is the co-founder and organizer for the Philly ‘burbs WordPress Meetup.
